Job Description

Our Client is one of the Yorkshire regions leading independent MEP Consulting Engineers, with over 20 years’ experience delivering intelligent cost-effective building services solutions. Services range from mechanical and electrical concept design to project handover and post-occupancy evaluation, as well as fire engineering, master planning, plus sustainability and building performance assessments. With offices strategically based in Leeds and Belfast, the business has carved out an excellent reputation across logistics and high end residential in particular, whilst noteworthy schemes across commercial, retail and leisure have also been expertly delivered. Working mainly for end users and developers offers many advantages, including the opportunity to be engaged at a far earlier stage and add genuine value to every job. The nature of their relationships with many of their customers, due to the trust that has been built over years of repeat custom, often requires additional operational leadership and project management beyond preconstruction design. Once the scheme goes live and activity hits site, the team oversee MEP operations as the clients eyes and ears on the ground, supervising contractors and ensuring installations are carried out to spec. The role of the M&E Associate is a pivotal one, managing expectations and ensuring the smooth delivery of M&E services from initial concept design to final handover. This requires, as the Lead Engineer, strong communication and project management skills, as well as technically competent design work to guarantee the building works efficiently and is fit for purpose. Additional responsibilities will include mentoring Junior Engineers and motivating a team to achieve excellence, costs control and promoting a flexible approach to problem solving.
