As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to students facing challenges related to their social, emotional, and mental health. A SEMH Teaching Assistant will work closely with teaching staff and external professionals to create a nurturing environment where every student feels valued and supported
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable. Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and strategies. Empathy, patience, and the ability to build trusting relationships with students. Must have enthusiasm, patience, and a passion for education. Adapt effectively to varying classroom dynamics and educational settings. Must have strong communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills. Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
