Design Manager

Job Description

A unique opportunity to join an established Main Contractor in South East London, who work on exciting and challenging projects. You will plan, review, co-ordinate, and manage the outputs of all parties with design responsibility to achieve the objectives of the project in accordance with programme and cost imperatives from tender to handover. Responsible for technical compliance on 1-2 projects comprising 50-100 units at any time.

Requirements

Degree-level (or equivalent) education in Architecture, Design Management, or Civil Engineering.
• Relevant practical design management/co-ordination experience
• Strong ability to review and understand detailed construction plans, whilst keeping on top of change
• Eye for detail and strong commercial acumen.
• Excellent organisational skills
• The ability to multi-task and handle conflicting deadlines
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Equal comfort working within a team and on your own
• Willingness to travel within the UK frequently, including overnight stays where required.
• German speaking is advantageous but not essential
